I'm sure most of you don't even remember the fic I was in the middle of writing two years ago. I can't believe it's been that long since the last chapter was posted, but the story was never far from my head and I tried to work on it as much as I could between bouts of overwhelming things happening in my life.

Not all of them were sad (my dad's death) or hard to cope with (being my disabled husband's caregiver, sharing responsibility with my sister for taking care of our aging mother, who decided to stop eating for some reason and compounded her dementia issues). Some of them were joyous (the birth of my first grandson) and loud and hectic (my son and his wife and their two dogs moving in with me a month before the birth to save up money to buy a house). Some of them were happy and precious (being a hands-on grandma) and time consuming (babysitting while my son and his wife worked, which I still do when they need me even though they bought their own house and moved out of mine). Some of them were unbelievably thrilling and involved packing up and traveling to four different cities throughout the year that started last January 28th (seeing eleven performances of Randy in Cabaret - yes, I'm obsessed).

But, and this is a very huge but, through all of that I have somehow managed to finish The Making of an Artist. Even if it did take two years. And now you know why.

I'll be posting CHAPTER TEN and the EPILOGUE in about an hour. If anyone wants to reread/scan through/brush up on/try to remember what the hell the story was about, here's a link to the Prologue. Each successive chapter is linked to at the end of the previous one.

I know it's frustrating to start a fic and have it disappear, and I sincerely apologize for doing that to anyone who was reading and was left stranded on the cliff.

But maybe you'll like the way things come full circle and get wrapped up. ♥

I actually just thought about this particular fic not so long ago Linda and I definitely missed reading it. I know you were dealing with lots of stuff in between. I'm actually happy for you that not all of it was sad.
I also know how important it is to have that safe place we call B/J fan fiction to keep us focused and sane.
Looking forward to read the rest of this amazingly beautiful story <3
Take care my friend

You know this story has a very special place in my heart don't you?

Aww, you're so sweet, V! I'm so happy to know you haven't forgotten this story, but I do know you remembered the Prologue was written for your birthday back in 2013 as part of the original Evil Kinney Girls project. Remember when we all used to write fics for each others' birthdays and for holidays? Fun times! LOL

Hugs, Linda

Of course I remember my dear. It was so much fun. Too bad some of the original EKG are no longer here on LJ *sigh*

Hugs back

Yeah, my life has been one huge event after another the last 2 years.

Glad you were looking forward to end the fic. I really appreciate all your support with commenting on every chapter. That's makes writing so much more rewarding to know people are reading and liking it. ♥

Thank you so much! Being a grandma is so much fun. My mom and husband are doing a little better now. Thanks for your sweet concern. Means so much to me.

I'll have to take some pics of their house. It's cute.

Merry Christmas to you, too!

(I hesitate to mention this, especially since you've read and left me beautiful comments on my fics and are so nice to genuinely care about my RL trials, but did you mean to unfriend me here on LJ a few weeks ago? I hope it was just a mistake. ♥)

Hugs, Linda
